Galenbecker See

Lake Galenbeck is a shallow glacial lake close to Strasburg in the Uckermark. Due to its biodiversity, it has been since 1938 one of the oldest nature reserves in Germany. Agricultural use and the necessary drainage in the surrounding area led to a lowering of the water level in the 20th century. Around the turn of the 21st century, extensive renaturation measures began, which caused the water level to rise again, which is why the former shore trees are now standing in the water and have died. The lake has a wonderful atmosphere, especially in the mornings and evenings, with its many different bird sounds.
